One of Australia’s important driving tests you need to pass to get your P Plates driving license would be the VORT or Vehicle on the Road Test. This driving test is particular in testing knowledge and driving skills as a competent driver. This road test aims to see if you are a safe driver and is ready to be on the road. With the VORT driving test, you will find out yourself if you are a capable driver and will not become a cause of accident on the road.

The VORT driving test takes about 60 minutes and during which you will be asked to demonstrate general drive skills and slow speed manoeuvres. The 5 slow speed manoeuvres would mostly include angle parking, moving off kerb, reverse park, a type of U-turn and 3-point turn. The general drive would most likely involve testing of your driving skills such as turning at traffic lights, changing lanes, etc. All of these are to see whether you are a truly capable driver. In order for you to pass the VORT driving test, you have to be able to demonstrate your competence as a safe driver by your slow speed manoeuvre and general drive to Road Rules & Road Law knowledge and application throughout the driving test.
With that demonstration, you should be able to pass a mark of 90% or more. Of course, you have to show your skills without breaking any road law. If you breach any road law, it will result to immediate law and of course, your test will end terminated. In the case that you fail your VORT driving test, your instructor will give you reasons why so can improve your performance
